- Why is age verification required for Premium?
- Premium unlocks calls and groups. Age verification is a one-time step required to access those features. It is not a recurring charge or subscription.
- What is a "boost" for Community servers?
- A boost is a monetary contribution from a member to their community server. Boosts unlock server tiers — the more boosts a server accumulates, the more features it unlocks. The total cost is split across all contributors.
- Can I self-host for free?
- No. Self-hosted deployments require a purchased license key. An active license is required at all times for the server to operate.
- Does Barrelhouse use the same encryption as SpeakEasy?
- Yes. Barrelhouse uses identical ML-KEM-768, ML-DSA-65, and PQ Double Ratchet cryptography. The difference is the distribution model and branding — not the security stack.
